THE PRECIPICE
The Precipice is a dark fairytale of forbidden sisterhood that asks the question"What will you do when they come for your wildness?"
Born out of Miranda’s bi-racial upbringing in the expansive countryside of Vermont,
The Precipice tells the story of Iris and Polly, two daughters born to the Goddess of Dreams, Lady Midnight. When placed on earth to inspire a broken society, it is revealed that, in their human form, Polly looks like the dark side of the moon and Iris, the light. Separated immediately, Iris and Polly come of age in very different circumstances and must navigate a narrow path to preserve their identities in an oppressive society determined to keep them stifled and apart.

Behind the scenes and performance highlights from the April 2024 Salon performance hosted by Black Women's Blueprint, featuring Laura Benanti, Nasia Thomas, Morgan Dudley, Eleri Ward and Lorrie Doriza
Over the past year, The Precipice has entered an exciting phase of development following its Williamstown Residency. Since spring 2024, The Precipice has held two salon performances with an incredible cast, presenting and experimenting with new songs for small audiences as part of a grassroots fundraising campaign.

These salons were in partnership with Black feminist organization, Black Women’s Blueprint, who piloted an artist in residence program for Miranda and The Precipice. On the fall equinox, the salon cast performed at the BWB annual gala, held under the stars on the land of the haudenosaunee. We are deeply grateful for Black Women’s Blueprint's support and look forward to sharing more about new exciting partnerships and development opportunities on the horizon for The Precipice.
